Why I Started Raykar PMC

My name is Sagar Raykar, PMP (a certified Project Management Professional), with over 15 years of experience managing EPC and EPCM projects across industrial manufacturing, power and environmental systems, pollution control, and transit. I've led project portfolios up to $12M+, working with clients and vendors across North America, the Middle East, and South Asia. These are environments where a missed milestone or an unmanaged vendor isn't a minor inconvenience: it's a real financial and operational risk. Large organizations in those sectors take project management seriously because they have to.

My most recent role was managing a multidisciplinary transit-sector project portfolio in customized lighting supply, where I worked directly with manufacturing teams and saw something consistently: the same project discipline that's standard practice at large EPC firms is often completely absent at growing businesses and manufacturers, not because the people don't care, but because no one has the bandwidth to build it, and a full-time PM hire doesn't make financial sense at their scale.

That gap is exactly what Raykar PMC exists to close. I bring the same rigor I'd apply to a large EPC project, sized appropriately for a business running one or two critical projects at a time, without asking them to take on a six-figure hire to get it.

What I Believe

  • Visibility prevents crises. Most project failures aren't sudden. The warning signs were there for weeks. A good system surfaces them early.
  • Systems should fit the business, not the other way around. You don't need new software or a heavy process. You need the minimum that actually gets used.
  • Senior experience matters, even part-time. Knowing what a problem looks like before it becomes one is the entire value of experience, and it doesn't require a full-time presence to apply.
  • Pricing should feel fair, not extractive. Priced to deliver more value than an internal hire, at a fraction of what a large consulting firm charges for the same expertise.
